Tuesday August 19th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a reported fire at a Cutler Road residence at 12:30 a.m. Crews found heavy fire behind the residence on the main deck within the pool area. Two lines were stretched and the fire was quickly under control. The house and decking area received heavy damage.

Tuesday August 5th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to the intersection of Route 10 and 202 for a car fire at 6:53 a.m. Patrols found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The MPFD extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was a total loss.

Sunday July 27th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a Littleton Road business at 4:27 p.m. The store employees reported an electrical fire at the business. The MPFD was able to quickly bring the situation under control. It was determined a light had short circuited and was burning. The store was closed for the remainder of the day for clean-up. Damage was minor.

Saturday, July 19th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched at 3:30 p.m. to assist the Whippany Fire Department for a fire that severely damaged two town homes in the Oak Ridge at Hanover complex on Parsippany Road.

Friday, July 18th, 2008:
At 5:30 p.m. the Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire in the woods behind the Candlewood suites. The department also responded to two activated fire alarmes later in the evening.

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded Rt. 10 and Littleton Road at 6:15 a.m. for a two car motor vehicle accident. One of the vehicles over turned and was heavily damaged.

Friday, June 26th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to Jaqui Avenue at 6:27 p.m. for a fire. A utility pole was on fire and the attached transformer was leaking fluid. The MPFD extinguished the fire and Jersey Central Power & Light responded to repair the damage.

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008:
At 10 p.m. the Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched to a two car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Rt. 10 and Littleton Road. This is the third time this week that the MPFD has responded to Rt. 10 for a motor vehicle accident.

Sunday, June 6th, 2008:
At 11 a.m. the Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched to Granniss Avenue for down and arching power lines. Crews stood by until Jersey Central Power and Light responded.

Busy Saturday, June 7th, 2008:
It was a busy morning for the Morris Plains Fire Department. The department responded to four activated fire alarms and a motor vehicle accident within a four hour period.

At 9:30 p.m. the Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched its second motor vehicle accident of the day. The Morris Plains Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a car into a pole on Rt. 10 east in front of Crib World. Crews responded and found a damaged vehicle with three injured occupants, all three occupants were taken to Morristown Hospital by the Morris Minute Men.The pole was split in two and all three transformers were knocked to the ground. The Morris County HAZMAT team, Jersey Central Power and Light, and the Department of Transportation responded. The east bound lanes of Rt. 10 were closed overnight.

Car Fire, May 12th, 2008:
At 9:30 p.m. The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a Mayfair Road residence for a reported car fire. Crews found a Ford pickup truck with heavy fire in the engine area, the fire was extinguished. Below firefighters Bill Hoferer and Adam Boxel extinguish a car fire on

Chimney Fire, April 13th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a chimney fire at a Glenbrook Road home at 6:58 p.m. A person passing the home noticed the flames coming from the chimney and alerted the homeowner. The MPFD were able to quickly bring the fire under control and prevent any damage to the home.

Haz-Mat, April 9th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to an American Road business complex at 1:56 p.m. A caller had reported that two employees had become ill, possibly from some type of inhalant. TheMorris County Haz-Mat Team, Morris Minute Men and a Mobile Intensive Care Unit were dispatched. The building was checked and cleared of any hazards by the Morris County Haz-Mat Team at approximately 5:00 p.m. The two employees were transported to the hospital for evaluation. The cause is under investigation.

Car Fire, April 6th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a car fire at 11:23 a.m. The intersection of Mountain Way and Glenbrook Road was closed for approximately 20 minutes while fire fighters brought the fire under control. The cause is under investigation.

Fuel Spill, April 4th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Police Department investigated a fuel spill on Mountain Way at 8:47 a.m. The Morris Plains Fire Department and the Morris County Haz-Mat team assisted. The matter is under investigation.

Activated Fire Alarm, March 10th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a Morris Plains home for an activated fire alarm at 5:42 p.m. Crews discovered that a blanket had caught fire from lit cigarette. The fire was extinguished with minor damage.

Heavey Winds, March 8th, 2008:
A storm which included heavy rain and wind caused an array of trees and electric wires to fall throughout town during the night. The Police Department, Fire Department and Public Works were on call throughout the storm and handled numerous calls. Many residents lost power and restore time was delayed due to the damage throughout the state.

House Fire, January 18th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a Holiday Drive residence at 9:11 p.m. for a reported house fire. Upon arrival the MPFD determined that the homes chimney had caught fire. No damage to the home was reported.

Car Accident, January 17th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a three car motor vehicle crash on Route 10 at 7:02 a.m. The crash required extensive clean-up which kept the left lane of the highway closed for nearly an hour.

Multiple Fires, January 15th, 2008:
The Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched at 7:25 p.m. to a chimney fire at an Old Wood Road residence. The fire was contained to the chimney. At 7:43 p.m. the Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire on Littleton Road. Upon arrival Fire Chief Mike Geary reported a working structure fire and requested mutual aid from the Cedar Knolls and Morris Township Fire Departments. The Morris Minute Men First Aid Squad and the Morris County support services truck also responded.
